The Open University program is only open to those who are not currently admitted to California State University, Stanislaus. Open University students are subject to all regular University rules and regulations.
The Open University program offers educational opportunities for those wanting to update their professional skills, make a career change or try out college level academic classes.
On a space available basis, Open University students have access to courses at both the Turlock and Stockton campuses.
Students may use a maximum of 24 units of credit towards a California State University, Stanislaus Undergraduate degree (please check with major departments for individual rules). Academic credit received in these programs will apply to your GPA and may also be transferred to other universities.
Online Registration is not available for Open University.
You must receive the instructors signature approval to enroll.

We cannot accept Open University forms before the first day of classes.
Important Dates: Spring 2010
- Instruction begins: February 16
- Late Registration begins: March 8 ($25.00 late fee)
- Last day to add or drop a class: March 15
- Last day to request CR/NC grading option: March 15
- Last day of classes: May 24
Undergraduate level courses are numbered from 1000 to 4995.
Graduate level courses are numbered 5000 and above.

- Come to our office before your class begins to obtain an Open University Form or download the PDF version here:

- Your instructor will need to approve your participation in the class by signing the form.
- Attend the first class meeting and obtain the instructor's signature.
- Return the signed form to our office after the first day of class and submit payment for your fees ($250.00 per academic unit for undergraduate level courses, $300.00 per unit for graduate level courses). If you need to use a campus computer lab or the blackboard system, each has a $15.00 semester fee.
Open University fees for both Graduate and Undergraduate courses are subject to change without notice.
